South Korea's beloved comedian couple, Kim Ji Min and Kim Jun Ho, are officially going to be parents.
On July 30, Kim Ji Min took to Instagram to share the exciting news that she is pregnant with the couple's first child. Alongside heartwarming photos, she posted a lengthy letter reflecting on their journey to becoming a family of three.
"Last year in 2025, we became an eternal pair. This year in 2026, we became the family of three we had always dreamed of," she wrote.
The couple's love story has been closely followed by fans over the years. They publicly confirmed their relationship in April 2022, drawing attention because of their nine-year age gap. After dating for more than three years, they tied the knot in a star-studded wedding ceremony in July 2025, with much of their wedding preparations featured on SBS's My Little Old Boy.
Their IVF Journey
In her Instagram post, Kim Ji Min revealed that the couple conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF) and shared an emotional account of the experience.
She said her husband constantly reminded her not to rush the process or put too much pressure on herself. After taking time to focus on restoring her health under the guidance of her doctors, she was finally cleared to begin IVF treatment.
To the couple's surprise, they conceived on their very first IVF attempt.
Kim Ji Min affectionately revealed that they have already given their unborn baby the nickname "Durup."
She shared that taking time to improve her health also changed the way she viewed motherhood.
During the process, she found herself thinking about how deeply her own mother must have wished for her before she was born. That realization made her even more grateful and determined throughout the journey.
Once her doctors confirmed she was healthy enough to begin treatment, she immediately wanted to start IVF without delay.
"It feels like just yesterday," she wrote, recalling the moment her doctor smiled and happily agreed to begin the treatment.
Keeping the Secret
Kim Ji Min admitted that many people had been asking whether she and Kim Jun Ho were expecting a baby.
Although she usually struggles to keep secrets, she said she managed to stay quiet until she safely passed the early stages of pregnancy.
She even added a lighthearted message thanking ChatGPT for listening to all of her thoughts during the process.
Now that she can finally share the news publicly, Kim Ji Min said she feels relieved and believes she'll finally be able to sleep peacefully.
She ended her heartfelt message by saying that with her husband, their two dogs—Neukkim and Nari—and baby Durup on the way, their family finally feels complete.
The announcement quickly filled her comments section with congratulatory messages from fellow celebrities, friends, and fans, who celebrated the couple's long-awaited news.
