Actor Lee Dong Ha, who recently played Chief Nam in Agent Kim Reactivated, is drawing attention for his past decision to give up his Italian citizenship in order to complete South Korea's mandatory military service.

During a 2016 appearance on SBS Radio's Cultwo Show, Lee revealed that he was born in Italy while his parents were studying there and lived in the country until he was three years old.

When asked why he gave up his Italian citizenship, Lee explained that both of his parents are Korean, he had no plans to live in Italy, and he wanted to fulfill his military duty in South Korea.

Lee Dong Ha made his debut in the 2008 musical Grease before appearing in numerous dramas. He gained recognition for his role as lawyer Han Se Gyu in the hit series Signal and most recently portrayed Chief Nam, the trusted right-hand man of Joo Kang Chan (Joo Sang Wook), in Agent Kim Reactivated.

In his personal life, Lee met Girl's Day member and actress Sojin while filming the 2021 movie Ghost Mansion. The couple later confirmed their relationship and got married in November 2023.
